Graduate Fellow: Minjie Wang (2016)

Minjie Wang, from Shanghai, China

Studying at NYU

Research: Minjie's research focus is distributed systems for large scale deep learning. His goal is to bridge the gap between machine learning applications and systems and to build an efficient and flexible deep learning platform. His recent projects include MXNet Research Link and Minpy Research Link.

Bio: Minjie is now a 2nd year Ph.D. student in New York University. He is a member of NYU systems group. Before joining NYU, he got his master and bachelor degrees in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He also spent two years as an research intern in Microsoft Research Asia, where he found his research interests in the disciplinary area between system and machine learning and built his first deep learning system: Minerva. He is also one of the initiators of Deep Machine Learning Community (DMLC).
