      <description>&lt;p&gt;Haithem Turki joined NVIDIA in 2024 and is currently a Senior Research Scientist. His research focuses on reconstructing, simulating, and generating 3D worlds, with a particular interest in the intersection of reconstruction and generative modeling: using generative priors to improve 3D reconstruction, and using reconstruction to ground generative models in the physical world. His recent work spans scalable neural scene reconstruction, real-time sensor simulation, and 3D content generation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was advised by &lt;a href=&#34;http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~deva/&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener&#34;&gt;Deva Ramanan&lt;/a&gt; and collaborated with &lt;a href=&#34;https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argo_AI&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener&#34;&gt;Argo AI&lt;/a&gt; and Meta &lt;a href=&#34;https://about.meta.com/realitylabs/&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener&#34;&gt;Reality Labs Research&lt;/a&gt;. Before his Ph.D., he spent seven years at &lt;a href=&#34;https://www.palantir.com/&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener&#34;&gt;Palantir Technologies&lt;/a&gt; in product and engineering leadership roles. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he worked with &lt;a href=&#34;http://theory.stanford.edu/~aiken/&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener&#34;&gt;Alex Aiken&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href=&#34;https://ai.stanford.edu/~koller/&#34; target=&#34;_blank&#34; rel=&#34;noopener&#34;&gt;Daphne Koller&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
