NVIDIA Research presented DiSECt, a differentiable simulation engine for autonomous robotic cutting, at the 2021 Robotics: Science and Systems (RSS) conference. Developed by researchers from NVIDIA and the University of Southern California, DiSECt accurately predicts forces acting on a knife as it cuts through natural soft materials like fruits and vegetables.
