NVIDIA was awarded a contract in late 2012 for the DARPA Power Efficiency Revolution For Embedded Computing Technologies (PERFECT) program, to research embedded processor technologies. Our research on the program includes low-power circuits, extremely energy-efficient architectures and parallel computing algorithms. NVIDIA is collaborating on the project with academic partners at the University of Utah and the University of Virginia. Performed over three phases, the project spans a potential 5.5 years.

A prior DARPA contract, now completed, called the Ubiquitous High Performance Computing (UHPC) program, partially funded NVIDIA’s Echelon extreme-scale project.

CRAFT, DARPA’s new Circuit Realization At Faster Timescales program aims to make it easier, faster and cheaper to design custom circuits.


NVIDIA has been awarded several awards by the Department of Energy:

FastForward 2, now concluded, was a continuation of our project on the original FastForward program, for exascale research with a focus on energy efficiency, programmability and resilience.

DesignForward, now concluded, to research network architectures to support throughput-optimized processors and very high message rates.
