Fahmy is a Research Intern in the Autonomous Vehicle Research Group and a final-year Ph.D. candidate at Imperial College London, advised by Prof. Washington Ochieng, Prof. Mohammed Quddus, and Prof. Panagiotis Angeloudis. He also earned his MEng from Imperial College prior to starting his Ph.D. His research focuses on motion planning and coordination for autonomous vehicles, with particular interests in end-to-end autonomous driving and narrowing the sim-to-real gap using information-theoretic techniques. He has prior experience in both the engineering and financial services industries and co-founded Imperial’s autonomous racing team, where he led a team of engineers and contributed to the core autonomy software stack.
