Kaustav is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Southern California and a visiting student at Stanford University, where he is advised by Prof. Somil Bansal. He received his M.S. in Robotics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2020, and his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, India in 2018. His research focuses on enhancing the safety of robotic systems with perception-enabled components. He is particularly interested in applying control-theoretic methods to evaluate the safety of autonomous vehicles, with the goal of enabling safe decision-making in uncertain and safety-critical scenarios.
