Jack (Huize) Shi is a Senior Research Engineer at NVIDIA Research within the Autonomous Vehicle Research Group, specializing in end-to-end driving. He is passionate about unifying mathematically rigorous robotics research with modern black box machine learning techniques to build safer, more capable autonomous systems.

A UC San Diego graduate, Jack began his career developing real-time computer vision systems at Google. He then spent several years advancing autonomous driving at Waymo, first leading the occluded pedestrian cluster for the Onboard Planner team during the initial SF launch, and later developing guided diffusion models for extreme long-tail trajectory generation at Waymo Research. He joined NVIDIA in 2026.
