Tianyi received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he was advised by Prof. Chenfanfu Jiang and Prof. Demetri Terzopoulos, and his B.Eng. in Software Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He has been interning at NVIDIA since last summer and now joins as a full-time Research Scientist. He has also spent time as a research intern at Netflix Research and Bytedance AI Lab. His research focuses on bridging physics-based simulation and generative AI, embedding physical priors into generative pipelines to produce visually compelling and physically consistent content, with applications spanning computer graphics, embodied AI, and robotics. Outside of research, Tianyi enjoys playing fingerstyle guitar and badminton, and is a devoted cat dad to two lovely cats.
