Yijia's research focuses on human-agent collaboration. On the agent side, she works to improve the collaborative intelligence of foundation models and develops agentic applications with humans in the loop. On the human side, she studies human preferences and identifies scenarios where human-agent collaboration is preferable to full automation.

Bio

Yijia Shao is a Computer Science PhD student at Stanford University, advised by Prof. Diyi Yang. She is also hosting The Augmented Mind Podcast to share technical human-centered AI. Previously, she received her bachelor's degree from Peking University and has interned at Google Tensorflow Lite, Microsoft Research Asia, and Thinking Machines Lab. She is a recipient of the Stanford School of Engineering Fellowship, Thinking Machines Lab Fellowship and the NVIDIA Graduate Fellowship.
