Graduate Fellow: Tianyi David Han (2013)

Tianyi David Han is a Ph.D. candidate in the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, supervised by Prof. Tarek Abdelrahman. David's primary research goal is to develop complier and run-time support to make parallel and heterogeneous architectures easier to program. His current research focuses on optimization auto-tuning for GPU programs using machine learning techniques. This research builds upon his earlier work on GPU optimizations for reducing thread divergence and on hiCUDA, a directive-based interface that simplifies the process of porting a sequential program to CUDA. David received his B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2007 and 2009, respectively.
