Sai’s research focuses on algorithms for differentiable rendering with applications to various inverse problems in computer vision. More recently, Sai is working on compilers that generalize core ideas from differentiable rendering to enable the automatic differentiation of a wider variety of applications that deal with numerical integration and continuous domains.
Sai is a 4th-year PhD student advised by Prof. Fredo Durand at MIT CSAIL. He also collaborates closely with Prof. Tzu-Mao Li and Prof. Jonathan Ragan-Kelley. Prior to MIT, Sai received a master’s degree from CMU and a bachelor’s degree from IIT Madras.
