Yi-Chen Lu is currently a Research Scientist at NVIDIA. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU) in 2017, followed by his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2019 and 2023, respectively. His research focuses on developing machine learning algorithms to improve Electronic Design Automation (EDA) flows for 2D and 3D Integrated Circuits (ICs), with a prime focus on Physical Design (PD).
Yi-Chen's works have led to multiple patents and publications, and been integrated into widely-used commercial EDA tools. He received the Best Paper Award at DAC 2023 and MLCAD 2022, and was nominated for Best Paper Awards at ICCAD 2019, DAC 2020, and ISPD 2021. Prior to joining NVIDIA, he worked as a Senior Physical Design Methodology and Machine Learning Engineer at Apple.
